Tourist Tips

Samtan Art Mine, which is a art theme park, is largely divided into Art Center, the main building, and the outdoor Memory Garden. Rail by Museum is also remarkable. Samtan Art Mine shows the real work environment of miners, which allows the visitors to gain field experience. Currently, it is used as a shooting place for drama, movies, music videos, etc. and also for photographers. The outdoor exhibition hall and the Memory Garden are places for commemorating miners who were sacrificed on the ground. 'The Coal Miner' is a memorial stone for commemorating miners who were killed due to various accidents including the tragedy in 1974 where 26 miners were buried inside the mine. The memorial stone was also erected to remember the miners who led the industrialization of South Korea.
